Hiring: Kids Pottery Instructor / Party Facilitator
About us
Clayo is a new, student-led startup leading fun & engaging pottery workshops for Kids Birthday Parties, Girl Guides, Retirement Homes and more. After finding success in the Ottawa market, we're looking to expand to Kingston.
Our model is slightly different - we're mobile, meaning our instructors go to the customer's location (in the case of a birthday party, this is usually the customer's home). This role will only require you to work on the weekend.
Note - this role requires you to have your own vehicle/consistent access to one.

Role Summary
*Note - past pottery experience is an asset, not a requirement. The pieces we make are very simple, and training will be provided.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and engaging Kids Birthday Party Facilitator / Instructor who lives in Kingston - ideally a student.
This role involves guiding participants through our structured workshops, communicating back and forth with the parent, collecting payment, and setting/cleaning up.
The ideal candidate is funny, confident, will enjoy working with children and clay, and have the ability to control the dynamic of a group of kids.
To begin, bookings will only be scheduled on the weekend.
Requirements
- Must have your own vehicle / consistent access to one with a valid Driver's License.
- Must have full weekend availability
- Prior experience working with children is preferred (coach, camp instructor, tutor, etc)
- Strong public speaking skills
- Passion for pottery is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.
Compensation
- Workshops last ~1 hour. Instructors are paid $100 per workshop. If 3 workshops are scheduled on Saturday, the instructor will earn $300.
- $200/month gas stipend
- After a successful 2 months, instructors will also begin earning a percentage of total revenue from workshops.
